Indigo

skinny Harris Tweed scarf

At Top Drawer in January, I was asked if I would do a collaboration with a very interesting man, John Abbate, of Bluehanded. John has had a fascinating career to date and he rediscovered an ancient technique of creating indigo fabric in rural China. The result is beautiful indigo fabrics, which we are pairing with Harris Tweed. More about John and his work can be found on his website, www.bluehanded.co.uk.

Taking into account the fact that the indigo is hand produced by an Indigo Master in China, prices are higher than my usual scarves.

We shall be adding some lighter coloured indigo fabrics soon. The scarves have a lovely drape and I have been enjoying wearing the sample. They were recently shown at Denim Days in Amsterdam, a retail and trade show devoted to Indigo and Denim.

Please note: There may be some variation in colours from the ones shown, due to the availability of certain colours. Reproduction of colour on the website may also differ from the actual colour.
